Yin & Pin with Michelle Frye & Meghan Terhune, LAc
One Wednesday bimonthly:
April 30 6:15-7:30pmDuring Yin and Pin, you will receive the benefits of yin yoga; long-held grounding poses, 4-8 minutes, aiding your flexibility, improving circulation, and enhancing range of motion. After movement you will find a resting position and a licensed acupuncturist will be inserting 4-6 needles strategically placed below the elbows and knees, on the head, and/or in the ears. Acupuncture uses thin, single use, sterilized, stainless steel needles inserted gently into specific points in the body to support your body's systems. Similar in concept to Prana, Chinese Medicine works with qi in the body to help harmonize both the body and the mind. The recognition of each seasonal and energetic shift within our planet and our bodies will direct the placement of the needles each time to honor these transitions. By combining acupuncture and yin yoga, we can tap more deeply into our quiet and powerful yin nature to support the nervous system and overall well-being. Come join us to experience the beautiful union of Chinese medicine and yin yoga! Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes.
*incense may be burned prior to the start of class
-75 min total (50 min of Yin, 25 min of Pin)

Eleanor Parks
Thursdays 7:15-8:15pm
Grounding asanas held for 5-10 minutes followed by a rebound state allows for the lubrication of the joints, ligaments and stretches the facial tissue. The connective tissue that runs qí (life force energy) to all surfaces of the muscular-skeletal system. Yin yoga aids in flexibility, mobility and injury prevention. We will use somatic breathing techniques to explore the depths of our bodies and help foster repair and renewing. Props, such as bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps, etc are encouraged, but unlike in restorative yoga in which props support and hold you, we use props in yin to facilitate presence. In yin, we want to feel the stretch, sensation allows for conversation in the body.
(3 person minimum, 13 person maximum at $20.00/person)
